Questions
What is RPE?+
RPE (rate of perceived exertion) is a 1–10 scale for how hard a set was: RPE 10 means nothing left, RPE 8 means two reps left in the tank. Powerlifters prescribe sets like “5 reps @ RPE 8,” and an RPE chart maps that to a percentage of your 1RM.
How does this calculator work?+
It uses an RPE percentage chart: your reps and RPE look up a percentage, and that percentage of your 1RM is today's working weight. In reverse, a hard set (weight × reps @ RPE) implies what your 1RM is right now — that's the estimate mode.
Is the estimated 1RM accurate?+
It's an estimate — a solid planning number, not a promise. RPE is self-reported, and everyone's rep-to-max relationship differs a little. Treat it as a training guide, and test real maxes when it matters.
Does it work in kilograms?+
Yes — flip the lb/kg toggle. Every result shows in both units, and the full app rounds to weights you can physically load with your gym's plates.
What does the free account add?+
Your 1RMs saved per lift with full history, warm-up ramps built like a coach writes them, and a plate loader that draws exactly what to put on the bar — no ads, no subscription, no app store.
