Questions

How do I estimate my squat max?+

Enter a recent hard set — weight, reps, and how hard it felt on the RPE scale (RPE 10 = nothing left, RPE 8 = two reps left). The calculator maps the set to a percentage of your 1RM and works backwards. Sets of 2–6 hard reps give the tightest estimates.

High bar and low bar — same max?+

Usually not. Most lifters move more weight low bar than high bar, so treat them as separate lifts: estimate and track each on its own instead of mixing sets from both.

Does depth change the estimate?+

The estimate carries only to squats done the same way. If your rep sets are a touch high and your max attempts are to full depth, the estimate will run optimistic — keep your rep standard honest and the math stays honest.

How accurate is the estimate?+

It's an estimate — a solid planning number, not a promise. RPE is self-reported and rep endurance on squats varies a lot between lifters. Fewer reps, closer to failure, tighter estimate.

Can I save my squat max somewhere?+

That's the whole app: a free account saves your squat, bench, and deadlift maxes with full dated history, calculates working weights from reps + RPE, builds warm-up ramps, and shows exactly which plates to load. No ads, no subscription.
